Explore and Investigate

Through hypothesis, gathering information, enquiry based tasks, observations and experiments children are given the unique opportunity to learn about the cause and effect of objects and how their surrounding world works.

Literacy and Language

Literacy and language foundation skills are developed through letter recognition, sight sounds, listening, reading and writing based learning experiences.

At Go Bananas Early Learning Centre we ensure each child’s learning and development are catered for through carefully planned learning experiences.

We recognise and respect each child’s varying cultures and beliefs, building a culturally inclusive environment free from discrimination.

Study has found that the first 5 years of a child’s life lead a significant impact on their development. We adhere to the Nationally recognised Early Years Learning Framework to ensure we provide children in our care with the best start to their early childhood.

Our curriculum has been established to be flexible and responsive to the individual needs of each child whilst ensuring key milestones are met. We celebrate the strengths, abilities and current interests of each child, which is reflected in our daily program.

Philosophy

At Go Bananas our education and care environments have a warm, responsive and welcoming atmosphere. Our learning environments are filled with opportunities for children to develop their natural wonder and curiosities.

Our educators establish trusting, reactive and loving relationships that foster each child’s self-confidence and create a supportive environment for them to grow and develop. Each child in our care is empowered to make their own decisions to learn and develop by engaging in our curriculum which reflects their interests and abilities.

We acknowledge and recognise the traditional custodians of the land and we pay our respect to past, present and emerging generations. We establish and maintain open, trusting relationships between educators and children with their families. This relationship reflects a shared journey, embracing each family’s varying culture and beliefs.

The foundations of our service are built on strong, respectful relationships with our families. We encourage families to be active participants in their child’s journey at our service. We welcome honest feedback, support and critical reflection to benefit the quality of education and care provided. We acknowledge parents are the child’s first teacher and will respect and support parents’ individual learning requests for their child.

Each child’s creativity, confidence and independence is promoted through a play based learning approach. We demonstrate respect for both natural and constructed environments, enabling children to conserve resources and appreciate the land we live on.

We work collaboratively with our local community alongside primary schools, local businesses and the wider community through various events throughout the calendar year.
